Meet the Doctor

Dr. Hutinger grew up in Sedalia, Missouri. He completed his undergraduate degree at Mizzou before attending dental school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Dr. Hutinger was hand-selected by faculty to participate in the Honors Oral Surgery Program and graduated with honors in 2013. Following dental school, Dr. Hutinger completed a multi-disciplinary hospital residency at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. Through the residency, he gained extensive experience in advanced surgical and restorative techniques in, oral surgery, dental implants, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatrics.

Dr. Hutinger is active in the dental community and is committed to staying current on the latest advancements in dentistry. He is an avid participant in continuing dental education and an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association and the Missouri Dental Association. Dr. Hutinger strives to provide the most advanced dental care to patients of all ages in a gentle and compassionate manner.

Prior to joining Smile Dental in 2017, Dr. Hutinger spent three and a half years providing dental care in the communities of Jefferson City and California, MO. During this time, he performed full mouth rehabilitation to children, and individuals with developmental disabilities in the hospital setting. Outside of the profession, Dr. Hutinger is an avid fan of Mizzou sports, Kansas City Chiefs, and St. Louis Cardinals. He also enjoys playing golf, spending time at the lake and riding his bike. He and his wife Krissy 'Koehly', originally from Moberly, are extremely excited to have settled back home in Mid-Missouri with their 2 daughters Sophie and Livie.

Kiersten attended State Fair Hygiene Program and graduated in 2017, she joined the smile dental team in October of 2018. Her goal as a hygienist is to help educate her patients, while creating long lasting relationships.

She was raised in Mexico and graduated in 2014. She is married to Shane who is an electrical apprentice with Kaiser Electric. They have one son; Benson, and a chocolate lab; Shadow. She enjoys spending time with her family and relaxing.
